Oh, you’re going to love this very simple Summer time dessert that is perfect for company and a BBQ. I love cobblers and pies but they sometimes take time if you make your own pie crust type. This blackberry crisp is put together in 10 minutes, that is as long as it take your oven to pre-heat.
Blackberry Crisp
4 cups fresh blackberries (can use frozen but let them thaw with the sugar mixture for 20 min.)
1/2 cup sugar
1 T. cornstarch
Mix these ingredients together and pour into a shallow dish but wide if you can, the berries will cook down faster. I used a 10 in. round stoneware pan.
Now for the topping..mmmmm
1 cup flour
1/2 cup rolled oats or quick
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 ts. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. ground all-spice
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup chilled butter cut up
Put all these ingredients into a food processor or in a mixing bowl.
Pulse the food processor until you get a nice chunky consistency.
With your fingers spread out the topping over the berries.
Put this into the oven at 375 degrees for 30 to 40 min. and viola you are done.
Add some of your favorite ice cream or whipping cream and you have a wonderful treat that your family and friends are sure to love.

Oh Boy! That looks delicious! I bet I know where you got your black berries. :)
actually a different friend asked me to go with her to pick at her Uncle’s house, and I couldn’t resist the invitation.
Holy crap that looks good. I am baking like crazy for a bye bye BBQ this weekend. Making summer pudding, meringue filled high with whipped cream and strawberries and an apricot flan…. using all my baking ingredients hence the strange array of desserts.
I am an autumn babe so am filled with the love of balckberries. This will be on my welcome to my new house celebration in Canada when we get there. YUMYUM YUM!
My goodness you are baking like crazy, hope your BBQ and move go well.
