I love this chocolate cake because it is so moist and chocolate-y and pretty. My friend gave me this recipe a few years back when we were in charge of a large dinner for 100 women at our church.
My favorite recipes are the ones that have normal ingredients that are affordable and not to hard to keep on hand, but yet, still special. You know, something you would make for someone special, dinner guests, or friends.
This cake recipe falls into that category. It is made from basic ingredients that you probably have in your pantry and fridge and yet it is still fancy looking and makes people feel special if you make it for them. My sister and her four kids are visiting us and we had this last night for dessert. I don’t know about anyone else but I know her 6 year old felt pretty special eating it and so did I.
Company Chocolate Cake

Preheat oven to 350°. Beat eggs until frothy. Add oil and water and mix until well blended. Add cake mix, sour cream and vanilla. Beat until well blended and then add pudding mix and mix until well combined. Fold in chocolate chips. Batter will be thick. Spoon batter into a well greased bundt pan. Bake at 350° for 45-50 minutes. Test center with toothpick, it will come out clean when the cake is done. Serve with whip cream and strawberries if desired.
If you don’t have a bundt pan you can cook the cake in a 9×13 pan or two round pans, but you will need to adjust the cooking time because the cake will cook much faster in the 9×13 or round pans.

P.S. I went para-sailing last week with my little boy and my friend Sarah….I cannot confirm or deny if I was really that afraid of the water….at least the rest of my party was having a blast!

Wow that look DELISH!! Thanks for sharing the recipe, I am going to have to give it a try.
If that cake tastes as good as it looks then I’m sure it’s divine.
And you should go para-sailing more often…I get a kick out of those pictures. You are so stinkin’ hilarious! Your little C-man was so brave, he looks like he’s having a blast. I’m glad that a shark didn’t eat your foot.
First that cake looks so good, and my hubbs just happens to be partial to chocolate. So yes, you are right this will be the perfect thing to make him feel loved
Second…that picture!!!! So funny! I love how the other two look all calm and relaxed and you like the only one who knows there are sharks in the water! You are too cute. I am not quite sure I would look any different
Your little man is getting so big, makes me sad. He looks like he loved it!
The cake looks great – perfectly moist and chocolatey. And for the parasailing? Oh my, all I can think of when I see people doing that at the beach is Jaws. LOL You’re brave!
Oh this cake looks like a little slice of heaven. Um… but the picture of you and para-sailing is priceless. What, where you afraid the fish would bit your toes?
Oh my, I need that cake! And that parasailing pic is PRICELESS!

Tina
That cake is a must. I’m going to make it this weekend and follow your lead with the berrys.
It’s ok honey, the water is nice but the fish are scarey. I’ve watched to many shark week episodes.
