So you just got done pulling your clean clothes out of the dryer. You chuck them on the couch to start the task that I deem tedious…folding laundry. Along with the clean laundry comes that little used dryer sheet that finds itself in the most obscure of places. Well you are in luck this week. I have found a great use for that used dryer sheet that will be both fun for the kiddos and get your house decorated for Valentines Day.
Dryer Sheet Hearts

Here’s what you are going to need to get this project underway:
- used dryer sheets (coffee filters also work if you don’t have any dryer sheets)
- food coloring
- water
- water bottle
- paintbrush
- egg carton
- cookie sheet

Egg cartons are so versatile and can be used for so many different things. We’ve discovered how much fun they can be with water and food coloring! I filled up one of my daughters water bottles so she could help put the water in each slot. As she started filling them up we noticed water leaking, so we put a cookie sheet under to prevent a huge mess. I showed her how to use the food coloring and she loved being able to drop a new color into each slot. She thought it was pretty neat! She then used a paintbrush to paint the dryer sheet. After they dried, I cut them into hearts. Cute and simple!

I couldn’t just keep this week’s post to one. This one is a favorite of my little girl. It was rainy outside and we were looking for something fun to do in the house. We had just taken her bowling for the first time and so she said, “Why don’t we go bowling.” So that is exactly what we did…except we did it at home. I rounded up a bunch of toilet paper rolls (from Kaylee’s Craft Box of course), put some old/mismatched socks inside of them and set them up on the tile. This has turned out to be one of her favorite activities…she even pulls them out when friends come over to play.
Now it’s your turn! I can’t wait to see what ya’ll have come up with!
The Rules:
- Link to a craft that you have made with re-purposed items, new or old
- Make sure to link to the post, not your home page
- Leave a link back to this post letting people know about the fun stuff going on…we want this to grow!!

Too cute Aubrey, what a fun idea!
Great Ideas Aubrey! I love the egg carton for water coloring. So smart. I think the bowling will be a big hit at our house. I will start saving TP rolls, beginning now. I wish I had something clever to link up.
My daughter is going to love making the painted dryer sheets. That girl is always looking for something to “peent”– surprised she hasn’t thought of this one (we’ve done napkins before).
This is not a “craft”, so I don’t know if you want the link with the others…
but this is a way to make reusable lunch containers out of a milk jug or juice container. I thought I would share this neat idea to help us all use less plastic bags.

Perfect! Thanks Rebecca, I had heard of this, but had never seen how to do it…
I love it! Thanks Rebecca, how clever!
The dryer sheets are such a great idea to be used all spring. Four leaf clovers for St. Patty’s, eggs and bunnies for Easter, and flowers in May.
