Easy Last Minute Thankgiving Crafts

by Aubrey on November 17, 2010

Yesterday was my day to teach preschool as I am part of a co-op preschool.  It was a fun day as we celebrated and learned about Thanksgiving.   We did some fun and easy crafts that I wanted to share.

After teaching them about the pilgrims and the Indians we made these fun corn on the cob pictures.

I printed this picture and it worked out perfect.  Of course after we were done we had to make popcorn to eat as well.

We also made these fun turkey hats using construction paper, staples, tape, and glue.  First make a hat to fit the child’s head by stapaling two strips of paper together.  After making the turkey’s body, staple it onto the front.  Then staple feathers on the back part of the hat.  I used feathers to help reinforce the feathers to the hat.

The kids then played turkey hide and seek.  One “turkey” would hide and the others would try to find the “turkey” for Thanksgiving dinner.

I also wanted to let you see how our Turkey is looking today.  We are so blessed and so thankful for many things!

Loving the turkey hats – my 4 year old would be all over that! I can already picture it at the dinner table this year. Great way to keep her entertained while we are busy in the kitchen :)

Cute ideas! We just made a thanksgiving turkey craft too where we used craft sticks to write what we are thankful for and used my daughter’s hand prints for the turkey “wings” :)

Great Thanksgiving crafts! I love the idea of improving eye-hand coordination by using fingers or tweezers to glue corn on the cob! I featured your post at the Living Montessori Now Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/LivingMontessoriNow

Super Cute ideas!! Kids love to create and for some reason every time they get to put something on their head as a hat they love it. I will be using that next week in my daycare. Thanks and have a great Thanksgiving!
