These heart Calla Lilies are a fun way for your kids to give Valentines to there grandparents, teachers, or anyone they think is super special. When all done up they look like a Valentine flower, unfold the little beauties and you find a heart with a message inside. Plus you only need three things to make them, sweet.
She loves me, She loves me not Calla Lilies
Supplies:
- Red construction paper
- Glue
- White pipe cleaners

Start by cutting out your hearts. You want them to have a long narrow end.

Ours were roughly the length of a pen.

Have your kids write their message on the hearts.

To make the flower you want to bring one end of the heart over the other. It is easier if you do this first to make the form, then add the glue.

Hold in place for a few seconds then set aside to dry.

While your hearts are drying work on your stems. Take your pipe cleaner and tie a knot about 1 to 2 inches from the end then create a loop at the end. I let my boy do this part, he learned how to tie a knot. I didn’t think he would be able to do it, I always underestimate!

Once the hearts are dry pull the pipe cleaner through till the knot sits in the hole. This will ensure that the flower holds it’s shape. Now wrap the end around your finger so that it curls down. You’re done!

We are going to wrap ours up in clear plastic and tie with ribbon just like they do at the florist and send to our grandma’s, I think they will love them!

How fun, love this idea!
This is such a cute idea! I might have to try this with my little girl for my mom’s birthday this week.
This is a great idea and would be perfect for my son to give his preschool teachers for Valentine’s Day. We have a special craft in mind for his classmates, but wouldn’t be quite right for the teachers. When I do my post on what we give his classmates, I am SO linking this up for the teachers!!! Thanks for the great idea!
Cute idea. Perfect for little fingers. I don’t know where you come up with this stuff, but keep it up.
I second that one! How do you do it? These will be perfect for the grandparents!
Really, really cute. What is especially neat is that very young fingers can cut 1/2 a folded heart, so it really comes from them!
dont you love these!
This is great! I loved it so much I posted about it and linked to your post. Thanx!
