It’s the season for apples, and I love it! Well, at least when it starts to feel that way – we’re still in the 90′s so I have to use my imagination :). Speaking of that, aren’t these cute? Apples made from a single paper plate and a little paint. Perfect for preschool and rainy day crafts. Catch me after the jump for the how to!
Preschool Paper Plate Apple Craft
- white paper plates (not waxed or coated is best)
- finger paint
Start by drawing two arches towards the center of the plate as shown.
Then have them cut along the line.
Now you have the core and two leaves.
Have them paint the ridges red – I tried to get my little one to use her fingers, but she insisted on using a brush :).
For the seeds, have them dab a little black paint on the tip of a finger and press in the center. She made one with no less than fifty seeds, I should have grabbed a pic of that!
Then paint the cutouts green.
After all the pieces have dried, staple the leaves to the top of the core. That’s it!
When they’re done with that, let them do a little crafting with the real thing. I love these apple doughnuts-it’s a healthy snack and keeps the kids busy.
Hope you are having a wonderful week!
