Some Stuff To Check Out

by Destri on October 14, 2010

Can I tell you I am finally starting to feel a little settled?  As in I can put down my tape gun for at least a few months, because I won’t be packing any boxes for awhile kind of settled.  I probably shouldn’t…my luck that one little comment will spark another move ;) .

I have had a chance to catch up on my reader and there is all sorts of fun stuff going on around the web, so I thought I would share.

Tam from Sew Dang cute is hosting a fun contest, have you heard?  You can enter a project you have completed since Sept. 1st and get a chance to work with a “crafting star” in a four-week contest to see who is the craftiest.  Sounds fun right?  I almost entered and then decided I would stress out to much.  Who knows, I have till Oct. 15th to walk away from my senses!  But I love Tam and her blog, so if you feel like having a little fun all you have to do is add a link to the linky party here!

If I were still in Utah, you would find me at the Harvest Boutique in Park City next weekend.  I would be at the table with the chocolate truffles and dipped candies first I am sure.  Then I would head over to chat with Marta and look at all her wonderful offerings.  I would find the most incredible little thoughtful gifts for Christmas and be way ahead on my holiday shopping.  Wanna come?  The date is Saturday, October 23rd, 10 am to 4pm.  Here is an official invite with all the details, including address.  I wish I would be seeing you there!

Speaking of Marta and her offerings, have you seen her penpal project yet?  It is a collaborated effort between her and Summer bringing class back to the postcard.  It features their love of baking, photography and obvious love of life, a simple one that is.  I just ordered two sets of the new Harvest Collection, one set to hang on my walls, one to send out to people I am thankful for this season. You can see all the collections in the Mini Mart.  Snail mail is the best you know.

I love Hannah, and her blog.  This post…well I needed to hear those words that day.  She also has this cleaning system that I am dying to try out.  She spells it all out for you in the post and then offers little reminder cards.  I am wanting to buy the print out version, but have yet to get some card stock to print it on.  Think I should just pick up the “already made it cute for you” version.  It just seems like the easiest and do-able system I have seen yet.  Also she has a new series that shows up every Friday that I am loving.  May I suggest…it’s a fun one, go check it out.

I wanted to share this with you awhile ago, and just found the bookmark.  NO KNEAD BREAD!  From what I hear it turns out just like the $5.00 artisan bread I can never pass up at the store or farmers market.  You know, the bread with the crunchy outside and the soft, dense, holey center that soaks up bread dipping oil just right?  Yes, that bread.  All you need is flour, salt, yeast and water.  Here is the original recipe on The New York Times website, but if you are looking for some pictures check out Simplicitas post.  She shows you how it looks along the way and the end result.  I can’t wait to try it!

So there you have it, some stuff to check out for your Thursday morning.  I hope it is a good one!

ps ~ I plan on doing this monthly, if there is something you have going on that you would like me to include, just shoot me an email!
