One year I made green gravy over biscuits and my kids loved it, every year now they s ask for it on St. Patricks day. I always do some sort of green thing like pancakes or waffles, green scrambled eggs.

Great ideas Jileen! And I love the idea of having a green lunch. I don't think I have ever been so excited about St. Patricks day before.

I saw an article a few years ago in Family Fun where the family makes a rainbow parfait. In a small drinking glass or sundae dish (make sure it's see-through) layer fruit in the colors of the rainbow - strawberries, mandarin oranges, pineapple, kiwi, blueberries, and red grapes (the article suggested plums but I found the grapes to be a better color and they were easier to find at this time of year.) We topped it with some Cool Whip and golden raisins (cloud and gold pieces) and we had a fun, yummy and nutritious St. Patrick's Day tradition.

I also have a friend that sends her kids on a Leprechaun treasure hunt every year. She uses words like, "Lads, Lassies, Blarney and other Irish sayings and sends them all over the house. The clues direct them to different green items where the next clue will be. She then has chocolate coins wrapped in gold foil at the end - sounds like fun!

I love those cupcakes! They're just about the cutest things I've ever seen. Love the decorations, too. St Paddy's tends to be such an adult-y holiday (what with all the drinking) it's nice to see that the kids get to have some fun, too.

I think people tend to underestimate how many foods you can make green! Anything that takes food coloring --mayonnaise, frosting, white sauces, you name it-- can be greenified. If anybody needs any ideas for green foods for St Patrick's Day, there are some really good ones here:

The Shamrock Spirals are really good.
