The Weekly Huddle is a weekly feature here on TMH where we can have a conversation and share tips on things that pertain to Mothers and our busy lives. The questions are submitted by the community here, and we’d love you to join the conversation!
Hello friends! I hope everyone in the US had a great Independence Day. We are up in Crested Butte Colorado enjoying the festivities and cool fresh air – it feels like we stepped back a season! We leave here tomorrow and head back to Utah for a few weeks, then off to Dallas. Crazy is my life.
So it’s time for anther The Weekly Huddle, and I thought this question from Carla was perfect for the Summer months:
“Does anyone have delicious punch recipe…of any kind?”
~Carla
Oh Carla, this one had me excited because I have a new favorite way of making “punch” that is both healthy and delicious.
All I do is crush some fresh fruit in the bottom of a glass or pitcher, add some fresh squeezed lemon or lime juice then fill the container with water and ice. I have been trying to step away from sugar and high fructose corn syrup packed beverages and found that I love Stevia to sweeten things up. I just add a few drops to taste and stir it up. I don’t mind the bits of fruit in the glasses, but you can use a top with a strainer if you want to keep them out.
Here is our all time favorite – especially my husbands. I get a daily request for a glass after work :)

I hope you give this a try, it really is a great alternative to those punch packets. Play around with fruit combinations and your sure to find a favorite. I have been wanting to try a pomegranate recipe, so if anyone has one do share!
Okay, let’s here from the huddle! Remember, this is only fun and helpful if you play along! Do you have a favorite punch recipe? Maybe a slushy one? Help Carla out and leave the recipe in the comments or a link to the recipe.
You can respond to comments by clicking on the reply link under each comment. Thanks so much for your participation!

I like to blend up frozen lemonade concentrate with ice…i think the ratio is about 1 can to 3-4 cups of ice. Then add mint leaves and a few fresh slices of lemon to garnish the Punch bowl. It’s a slushy punch that seems to always get a great reaction on hot summer days.
Here’s the punch I use for parties and receptions after concerts at church. It is easy, and not too sweet, and pretty, and always very popular.
1 big container cranberry juice cocktail
1 can frozen pink lemonade
1 qt 7-up
Mix it up and serve! Classy and delicious!
I love the punch recipe you shared today and must put it on my list of things I want to make – although it’s not pomegranate I must share my sister’s “Bug Juice” recipe it is very refreshing on a stifling hot summer day – 12 oz frozen lemonade & 12 oz frozen orange juice, 1 pkg lime kool-aid, 1 gallon water & 2 c sugar. Mix it all up and freeze it in gallon jugs – then just take out of freezer a few hours before you plan to use it!
Party Punch (best punch I have ever had!)
2 medium cans orange juice concentrate
6 oz. pineapple juice
1 can lemonade concentrate
1 2 liter Hawaiian Punch bottle
1 2 liter Ginger Ale bottle
Refrigerate the Hawaiian Punch and Ginger Ale at least for an hour before serving. Let the frozen concentrates thaw a little. Mix all ingredients together and stir. It serves roughly 25-30 people!
Cold Coffee Punch
1 gallon of whole milk {must use whole}
1/2 gallon of vanilla ice cream
1/2 gallon of chocolate ice cream
2 ounces instant coffee {can use decaf}
2 cups of sugar
1 cup of water
In a saucepan, mix the coffee, sugar, and water and heat until melted. Refrigerate … the liquid will get kind of syrupy. Before guests arrive, pour chilled syrup in punch bowl. Add entire gallon of milk. Add all the ice cream (by scoops) into the punch. Stir. The ice cream doesn’t have to melt all the way … it serves as the ice.
Easiest Punch Recipe
If you want it to look like champagne
1 can of frozen lemonade concentrate
1 2liter of ginger ale
1 container of white grape juice
If you want it to look pink
use pink lemonade and cranberry juice
To make add all of the ingredients in your serving punch bowl and mix. It is easier if the concentrate is completely thawed and liquid. This is great at weddings I have helped host because you can just keep adding to it with extras in the back while the wedding is happening.
