White Crayon Magic Painting

by Aubrey on June 1, 2011

This is another one of the crafts that we did at our friends house when we made the coffee filter butterflies.  I love this one because there are so many fun things you could do with it.

  • white paper (we used a tan piece of paper, but I think the white would be a lot better)
  • watercolors and paintbrush
  • white crayon

First use the white canyon to draw whatever you would like on the white piece of paper.  Then paint over your drawing with the watercolors to see the drawing.

I thought it would be fun to write secret messages and then have the child paint over it to read it.  There are so many fun things you could do!  These types of things make a child feel super special.  :-)

Did it just now! The kids loved it. and you’re right, it would be fun to do little secret messages for them. Cataloged for later ;).

Love it! You can also color over the crayon with non-permanent markers and get a similar effect.
